Job Title: Installer/Counter Representative

Location: The Truck Shop, 1148 S. Reynold Rd., Toledo, OH 43615

Reports To: Owner

Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled, reliable, and highly motivated Installer/counter rep to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in vehicle customization and installation of aftermarket accessories, will have a passion for the automotive industry, and be eager to assist customers in selecting the right truck accessories for their needs. In this role, you will be responsible for installing a variety of truck accessories, ensuring a high standard of workmanship, assisting with customer product inquires, processing orders, and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install Truck Accessories: Perform installations of various truck accessories including but not limited to lift kits, bed liners, tonneau covers, grill guards, step bars, towing equipment, truck bed accessories, lighting, and more.
  • Customer Service: Greet customers promptly and assist with product selection by providing knowledgeable advice on truck accessories such as lift kits, bed liners, tonneau covers, towing equipment, and other aftermarket products.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of the truck accessories products we offer, including features, benefits, compatibility with different vehicles, and installation processes.
  • Order Processing: Take customer orders (in-person, via phone, or online), prepare quotes, and process transactions accurately and efficiently using the shop’s point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Work Efficiency & Safety: Follow all safety guidelines while handling equipment and tools, ensuring that installations are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
  • Quality Control: Test all installed accessories to ensure proper function, durability, and quality before delivering the vehicle back to the customer.
  • Maintenance of Tools & Equipment: Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and workspaces, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, customer interactions, and inventory used.
  • Customer Follow-Up: Provide after-sales support, including order status updates, and address customer inquiries or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Shop Presentation: Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting counter and showroom area to enhance the customer experience.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and high customer service standards.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in automotive accessory installation, mechanical work, customer service, or related fields preferred. Training will be provided for specific products and tools.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of truck accessories, parts, and installation processes.
    • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
    • Basic understanding of vehicle systems and mechanical operations.
    • Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Strong ability to handle customer inquiries, complaints, and provide solutions.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
  • Product Knowledge: Basic understanding of truck accessories, parts, and vehicle customization is a plus but not required.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods when assisting customers at the counter.
    • Comfortable working in a garage/shop environment with exposure to mechanical systems, noise, and weather conditions.
  • Communication: Strong verbal communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and solve installation challenges or complications.
